For the last 15 years I have spend most of my professional career in the area of supply chain management.

I started out a research assistant at the Fraunhofer Institute in Germany, moved into consulting, moved out of consulting to run operations at a medium sized automotive supplier and after that moved back into supply chain consulting at my current employer Accenture.

My home base is in the south of Munich, but my projects literally take me all over the world, dealing with supply chain challenges of various clients, ranging from medium sized local heroes to global corporations with operations spanning the whole globe.

What I found most challenging in recent years is to span the gap between what is technically possible (at least in theory) and what can an organization digest. This has many aspects, starting from selecting the right strategy for your supply chain evolution, identifying the right technologies to bet on but also very much the question on how to manage talent in our future supply chains.

In my private life, I am happily married to my wife Daniela and enjoy the life of a “2-toddler household”. I am also a fan of football (Bayern Munich, if you want to know) and ice hockey (rather less known and substantially less successful: Starbulls Rosenheim). I also used to play hockey a lot myself, but during the last years, my life as a consultant and father severely limited my availability to actively participate in this wonderful sport…
